Swallowdale Nursery
The Swallowdale opening hours are 08.30 – 15.30.
The Nursery Lead and Nursery Manager work closely together with the staff team to provide a wealth of learning opportunities for the children to experience both in and outdoors. The nursery is situated in the grounds of Swallowdale Primary School and is based in a open plan modular building with a seperate kitchen area. The building provides defined learning areas and offers free flow play to a secure outdoor area. The outdoor environment is divided into different areas which include loose parts play, sensory experiences, physical and imaginary play. Access to the nursery is gained via a secure gate attached to the school.
The nursery was awarded ‘Good’ in our latest OFSTED inspection in September 2022.
At our settings we use Tapestry, a secure online learning journal which can be accessed online. We use this platform to record and share children’s learning, development and experiences and these are shared through the use of photos, videos and written observations. We also use this to communicate with parents and carers to share Nursery news, events and documents.

James Barney Childcare Centre
The James Barney Childcare Centre opening hours are
08.30 – 16.00.
The Nursery Lead and Nursery Manager work together with the staff team to provide a wealth of learning opportunities for the children to experience both in and outdoors. The nursery consists of two buildings, a large outdoor area and separate kitchen. Access is gained via a secure gate on Norman Way. The first building is an old school with a mezzanine floor. This building provides a variety of learning areas: some large, some small both indoors and outdoors. The second building, known as the cottage, also has a large outdoor play area and benefits from a canopy allowing free flow play in all weathers.
